Key insight: The most effective AI governance frameworks are enabling, not just controlling. The goal is responsible innovation, not paralysis. Governance should make it easier for teams to adopt AI safely by providing clear guardrails, fast approval pathways for low-risk use cases, and shared resources like pre-approved vendor lists and impact assessment templates. If your governance process takes longer than the pilot itself, teams will route around it.
