Incident Response, Staying Current & Where Next
When something goes wrong, how to stay current, and your next steps.
The big idea
Two final things. Incident response: if data has gone into a tool it shouldn't have — like the NSW RA case — report to your ISO/SO immediately, preserve logs, and follow your incident process; speed and honesty limit the damage. Staying current: this policy area changes every quarter, so the course carries a review date and you should re-check it whenever the PSPF Advisory or Defence Policy Settings change, the ISM updates, GovAI Chat rolls out, or a major Australian AI incident occurs.
Key insight: The two habits that outlast any specific policy: report incidents fast and preserve the evidence, and treat your knowledge as perishable — re-check the live documents each quarter.
